Renewing An Antique Copper Sink

We always try to add really high end fittings and fixtures to our home remodels, preferably items that others can’t find, which make our properties truly unique. The half-bath vanity in this remodel was designed with copper in mind … copper sinks are beautiful! But genuine, antique copper sinks are expensive and difficult to find.

We came across this beauty at a Canton “First Monday” market, and just HAD to have it …

but as you can see, it needed a little TLC to come up to our standards. Cue Jerry with this GREAT product, Brite Boy metal polish (about $20 per quart from jet.com and others) …

Wipe on, let dry, wipe off … no abrasive scratching, just a soft cloth and some elbow grease, and …

… back to Eligra quality in no time. So, don’t write off old pieces with their years of “patina” and lack of maintenance, just hunt around for the right pieces, get hold of the right cleaning product and be prepared to spend a little time with them to set your home apart from the rest.
